The ICT and Computing Department at Radyr is highly innovative and creative. Our students reap the benefits of staff with over 25 years relevant commercial experience. We are passionate about our subject and strive to be at the very cutting edge of new technology.
Computing
Computers are widely used in all aspects of government, business, industry, education, leisure and the home. In this increasingly technological age, a study of Computing, and particularly how computers are used in the solution of a variety of problems, is not only valuable to the students themselves but also essential to the future well-being of the country.
Students are encouraged to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge of computing as a basis for progression into further learning, including progression from AS to A2, and/or employment in computing-related fields.
Digital Technology
A new A Level for the modern world of ICT
Do you enjoy designing and playing games? Would you want to gain extensive
skills in Photoshop? Or how about data analysis and interrogation? Does the idea
of gaining a greater understanding of Artificial Intelligence, cyber security, website
development, or robotics excite you?
If you can answer yes to any of the above questions then an A Level in Digital Technology is for you. This is a ‘hands-on’ course that has 50% exam and 50% coursework
